A high school diploma can open the door to employment, higher education, financial independence, and an entirely different future.
But for some students, earning that diploma requires overcoming far more than homework, exams, and attendance.
Students at Texans Can Academies may arrive at school while dealing with challenges that many of their peers never have to consider. Some are experiencing homelessness or housing instability. Others are helping support their families, raising children of their own, learning English, coping with learning differences, or struggling with food insecurity and other difficult circumstances.
And still, they show up.
This North Texas Giving Day, Every Car Can is asking our community to show up for them.
Student Support Can Change Everything
Texans Can Academies provides specialized, student-centered educational opportunities for approximately 3,000 high school students each academic year across its schools in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and its Virtual Academy. According to Every Car Can’s North Texas Giving Day profile, 94.6% of the students served are considered at risk of dropping out, while more than 92% are economically disadvantaged.
When students face circumstances like these, seemingly small needs can quickly become major obstacles.
A student without clean clothes may decide not to attend school.
A student without transportation may miss class.
A young parent may be forced to choose between an educational expense and something their child needs.
A student pursuing a career certification may not have the money to cover the required fee.
That is where student support matters.
Financial assistance generated through Every Car Can helps Texans Can Academies address practical needs that can keep students connected to school and progressing toward graduation. The organization’s Giving Day campaign specifically highlights needs such as uniforms, clothing, hygiene products, healthy snacks, and other essential assistance managed through school leadership.
Our North Texas Giving Day Goal
For 2026, Every Car Can has established a $30,000 North Texas Giving Day fundraising goal as part of its broader effort to provide student assistance across Texans Can Academies.
Every contribution matters.
